How often have you needed to send a document via fax but there isn’t a fax machine in sight? I have many times, especially when I am traveling. I have a couple of files containing my signature that I can append to documents in common editing software such as Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Word. These are image files I made from scanning my signature. This eliminates the need to print and fax or print, scan, and send back via email.

Recently I needed to get an important document to a client. Because I was in the middle of moving my office, I didn’t have access to a printer (my printers were disconnected and on the floor in my new office 3 blocks away).

I searched for fax services online and many of them require software and a fax line. Beware of this because I didn’t realize until after I downloaded and installed at least a dozen. Then tried to send a fax with no success!

Finally I found fax zero. This service allows you to send a fax directly from the web browser like yousendit.com for sending large documents. You can send up to two separate faxes a day. The only drawback is there is an ad on the cover page. I haven’t actually seen any of the faxes I have sent so I’m not sure how large it is.

How It Works

Go to this page, http://faxzero.com/ and fill out the form. Upload the document you want to fax.

But, wait! There are 2 more steps before your fax is sent.
After you press submit, you will receive an email to verify your email address. This prevents fraudulent faxes.

5 minutes later, you will receive another email stating your fax is ready to be sent but you must click the link to do so. Your fax is sent immediately.

It could be worse. I suppose these extra two steps protect the consumer but they seem unnecessary. Couldn’t you verify your email address and launch the fax from the que in one click rather than two?

It is better than nothing. When you got to fax, this is probably your best option on the go.
